Two pieces. One move.

TwinStep is a free browser puzzle with eight short challenges.

Animated TwinStep demonstration: move A and B in opposite directions and use walls to bring both onto their goals.

A short animated demonstration of real puzzle moves.

Choose a direction for square A. Circle B tries to move the opposite way. A wall or the edge of the board can hold one piece while the other moves. Bring both pieces onto their matching outlined goals at the same time.

Play at your own pace

  • Eight puzzles exploring walls, edges and the space between the pieces.
  • No timer. Undo a move or restart whenever you like.
  • Show one step suggests a move without making it for you.
  • A minimum move count offers an optional extra challenge. Every solution counts.
  • Progress and personal bests saved in this browser.

Controls

Use the arrow keys, WASD or the on-screen direction buttons. You can also swipe on the board in the direction you want A to move. When the game has focus, Z undoes a move and R restarts the puzzle. Sound is optional.

The pieces cannot share a cell or swap places in one move. A piece can leave its goal before both are home.
